Books and territory / Piedmontese language
Piedmont dialect (piemontèis) is a Romance language that shares many features with Lombard dialect and Occitan, but it also has his own lexical, phonetic and morphosyntactic peculiarities. In the royal library some of the most interest books are in dialect, which indicates a sincere interest and a strong connection with the region and the people.
Two books are especially interesting to read, a translation of the Bible and one of Dante’s Inferno first canto.
