The book is a complete compendium – although a bit chaotic – for all those western people that may want to know China under different points of view: it contains statistics on the population, maps of the trail between Beijing and Mongolia and a map of the city itself. There are also information about customs and traditions, illustrated by pictures that show a Manchurian fighter, men and women from the Kileng tribe, “Even and odd” players, and many more. The book ends with an explanation about the Buddha’s life and the Buddhist religion, and a list of all China’s rail stations.
